Maureen Duggan


Maureen completed her undergraduate degree in Education in 1989 with a specialization in the Early Childhood years (Kindergarten to-Grade 3) at the University of Alberta. She has worked as a teacher and a counsellor within the school system with students from Kindergarten to grade 12.

After receiving a Masters degree in Psychology in 1995 at the University of Alberta, Maureen has worked on a part time basis as a therapist in private practice in addition to continuing to work as a full time teacher. Since receiving her Master's degree, she has completed additional courses to fulfill the academic credentials requirement for the College of Alberta Psychologists. Maureen is now a provisionally chartered psychologist completing an internship as a school psychologist in addition to working in private practice with the Cosmedics Medical Group.

Within her practice, Maureen utilizes hope-based therapy, solution-focused therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy with the underlying belief that the client possesses the inherent abilities and skills to achieve their potential. She thoroughly enjoys working at Cosmedics, and she is honoured to be volunteering as a therapist at the Boyle McCauley Health Center.
